Who we are

Kitsilano Handyman is a handyman business owned and operated by Oleksandr Stanislavskiyi (Alex) in Vancouver, British Columbia. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. We follow BC's Personal Information Protection Act.

What we collect

When you contact us by phone, text or email, we collect what you choose to share. That can include your name, phone number, email address, the address of the job, and photos or details you send about the work. This website has no contact forms.

When you visit the site, we also collect anonymous usage information through Google Analytics, such as the pages you view, how you arrived, your general location (city level) and the type of device and browser you use. See Website visits and cookies below.

How we use it

We use your information to answer your questions, give you a quote, schedule and do the work, send an invoice, and keep the business records we are required to keep. We do not sell, rent or trade your information, and we do not add you to a mailing list.

We only use photos of finished work on this website or our Google Business Profile with your permission, and we never show your street address or anything that identifies your home.

Website visits and cookies

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how people find and use this site, so we can improve it. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technology to collect information such as pages viewed, time on the site, the site or search that referred you, and your device and browser type. IP addresses are not stored or shared with us. We do not use this information to identify you, and we do not use it for advertising.

We also use Google Search Console, which shows us which Google searches lead people to this site. It does not place cookies on your device or tell us who you are.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or opt out of Google Analytics on all sites with the Google Analytics opt out browser add on. Learn more in how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. Our fonts load from Google Fonts, which also receives your IP address when the page loads.

How long we keep it

We keep job details and invoices for as long as tax law requires business records to be kept, which in Canada is generally six years. Messages that never turn into a job are deleted when they are no longer needed.

Your choices

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete anything we are not required to keep.
