Small Home Repairs in Vancouver

Most homes have a list of small things that never get done. A cracked step edge, a gap that lets the rain in, a piece of siding that came loose in a storm. I work through that list carefully, one job at a time.

If something on your list needs a licensed electrician, plumber or gas fitter, I will tell you straight away. I only take on work I can do safely and properly.

What's included

Every job is scoped with you before it starts. A typical job can include the following.

  • Siding repairs
  • Caulking and weatherproofing around windows and doors
  • Concrete step and walkway patching
  • Subfloor repair under old floors
  • Door adjustments and new hardware
  • General home maintenance

What Vancouver homeowners should know

In Vancouver, most small repairs are about keeping water out. Caulking around windows and doors, sealing gaps in siding and fixing step edges before winter all prevent bigger problems in the rainy season.

Common questions

Do you do electrical or plumbing?

No. In BC that work needs licensed trades, and I will not pretend otherwise. I am happy to handle the parts around it, like patching and painting after a plumber is done.

Is there a minimum job size?

Small jobs are welcome. Send me your list and I will tell you honestly how long it will take.

How do you price a job?

I look at your photos or come and see the job, then give you a fixed price for the agreed work before anything starts. If I find something unexpected, I stop and talk to you before doing anything extra.

Which areas do you cover?

Vancouver, Burnaby, North Vancouver, Richmond and New Westminster. If you are just outside those, send a text and ask.

What should I send for a quote?

A sentence about the job, two or three phone photos and your neighbourhood or nearest cross street. That is usually enough for a first answer the same day.

2

Agree on scope and price

I look at the job, tell you honestly what it needs, and we agree on the work and the price before I start.

3

Careful work, clean finish

I protect your home, do the work properly, clean up every day and send you photos of the finished job.
