Moving Help in Vancouver

Not every move needs a full moving company. Often you have the truck and just need a strong, careful extra pair of hands for the heavy part.

I help load, carry and unload, protect doorways and floors, and set up beds and furniture in the new place so you can sleep there that night.

What's included

Every job is scoped with you before it starts. A typical job can include the following.

  • Loading and unloading a rental truck
  • Carrying furniture and boxes, including stairs
  • Protecting doorways and floors
  • Taking apart and putting back together beds and tables
  • Setting up furniture in the new home

What Vancouver homeowners should know

Vancouver moves often mean stairs, tight condo elevators and booked loading bays. Tell me about the building in advance and I will plan the order of carrying around it.

Common questions

Do you have a truck?

Ask when you call. I usually help with carrying, loading and setup, working alongside a rental truck or a moving company.

Can you help with just the heavy items?

Yes. Many people pack themselves and only need help with the furniture and appliances.

Do you help with move-out cleaning or repairs?

I can patch and paint walls before a move-out inspection. For deep cleaning, a cleaning company is the better fit.

How do you price a job?

I look at your photos or come and see the job, then give you a fixed price for the agreed work before anything starts. If I find something unexpected, I stop and talk to you before doing anything extra.

Which areas do you cover?

Vancouver, Burnaby, North Vancouver, Richmond and New Westminster. If you are just outside those, send a text and ask.

What should I send for a quote?

A sentence about the job, two or three phone photos and your neighbourhood or nearest cross street. That is usually enough for a first answer the same day.

How it works

No call centre and no surprises. You deal with the person who does the work.

1

Call or text with photos

Tell me what needs doing and where you are. Two or three phone photos are usually enough for a first answer.

2

Agree on scope and price

I look at the job, tell you honestly what it needs, and we agree on the work and the price before I start.

3

Careful work, clean finish

I protect your home, do the work properly, clean up every day and send you photos of the finished job.

Have a job in mind?

Call or text Alex with a short description and a few photos. You will get an honest answer about what it needs and what it costs.
