Laminate Flooring Installation in Vancouver

A new laminate floor changes how a room feels in a day or two. I have installed laminate in homes in British Columbia and, before coming to Canada, in Poland.

I check the subfloor first, lay a proper underlay, keep the expansion gaps even and finish the edges so the floor looks right where it meets the walls and doorways.

What's included

Every job is scoped with you before it starts. A typical job can include the following.

  • Removing old carpet or flooring
  • Checking and preparing the subfloor
  • Underlay and click laminate installation
  • Cutting around door frames and fixtures
  • Baseboard and transition trims
  • Cleanup and disposal

What Vancouver homeowners should know

Many Vancouver basement suites and older condos have tired carpet or uneven floors that laminate replaces well. Basements need a moisture barrier under the underlay, because concrete slabs here can stay damp.

Common questions

Can you install flooring I already bought?

Yes. Send me the product name and the room sizes, and I will tell you if anything else is needed, like underlay or trims.

How big a job do you take on?

One to a few rooms is the sweet spot. For a whole house, I will give you an honest timeline before you decide.

Can laminate go in a basement?

Yes, with a moisture barrier under the underlay. I check the slab for damp first.

How do you price a job?

I look at your photos or come and see the job, then give you a fixed price for the agreed work before anything starts. If I find something unexpected, I stop and talk to you before doing anything extra.

Which areas do you cover?

Vancouver, Burnaby, North Vancouver, Richmond and New Westminster. If you are just outside those, send a text and ask.

What should I send for a quote?

A sentence about the job, two or three phone photos and your neighbourhood or nearest cross street. That is usually enough for a first answer the same day.
