Fence Repair in Vancouver
A fence rarely needs replacing all at once. Usually a few boards have cracked, a rail has come loose, or the gate has started to drag. I fix those parts and leave the rest of the fence standing.
After a repair, the new boards can be painted or stained so the fence looks like one piece again.

What's included
Every job is scoped with you before it starts. A typical job can include the following.
- Replacing broken or missing fence boards
- Fixing loose or rotten rails
- Rehanging and adjusting sagging gates
- New hinges and latches
- Clearing debris along the fence line
- Painting or staining after repairs
What Vancouver homeowners should know
Wet winters and wind storms are hard on Vancouver's cedar fences. Bottom rails sitting near damp soil rot first, and gates on long fences sag as the posts move. Checking a fence in the fall, before the winter storms, saves bigger repairs later.
Common questions
Do you replace fence posts?
For a single leaning post I can often help. If several posts have rotted at the base, a fencing contractor with post equipment is the better choice, and I will say so.
Can you fix a gate that drags?
Yes. Most dragging gates need new hinges, a reset frame or a small adjustment to the post.
Will the new boards match?
New cedar is lighter than old boards at first. Staining or painting the section evens it out.
How do you price a job?
I look at your photos or come and see the job, then give you a fixed price for the agreed work before anything starts. If I find something unexpected, I stop and talk to you before doing anything extra.
Which areas do you cover?
Vancouver, Burnaby, North Vancouver, Richmond and New Westminster. If you are just outside those, send a text and ask.
What should I send for a quote?
A sentence about the job, two or three phone photos and your neighbourhood or nearest cross street. That is usually enough for a first answer the same day.
Often booked together
